Who we are…
In 1967, Kisatchie-Delta Regional Planning & Development District was established to focus on creating and retaining jobs and bettering the quality of life
We are a State of Louisiana public commission, Region 6 State Planning District, and essentially ‘owned’ by our member governing jurisdictions, municipal and parish governments. KD has Federal designations as a local development district and an economic development district and also serves as a sub-state data center clearinghouse.
We help local governments with seeking resources, funding, and opportunity. We help communities develop projects, compete for state and federal grants, and find solutions. We help your leadership with economic development consulting and your citizens with small business development. We help communities with cultivating a climate ripe for business.
What we do and Why …
KD focuses on the strength of the region and the communities within. Programming and staff are guided by the policies of a diverse Board of Directors representing each of the eight parishes: Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon and Winn.
Our professional staff works with citizens, non-profits, local governments and businesses to access resources that enable business and industry, and generate opportunities for outside investment to be drawn into the region.
Kisatchie-Delta programs result in:
- enhanced economic activity and community capacity,
- improved community infrastructure (physical and social),
- increased revenue through capital injection and small business capacity, and
- enriched entrepreneurs with training and specialized technical assistance.
We engage constituencies throughout Central Louisiana and work both with and for the region.
